How much does moving cost?

Flat rate moving

Our customized, flat-rate moving estimates are based on the following information that the client provides:

  • flights of stairs at each location,

  • distance between locations,

  • volume of furniture, boxes & other items,

  • requested additional services like dis/reassembly.

Flat rates may vary by:

  • Peak / off-peak periods.

  • Morning / afternoon arrival windows.

  • Number of team members required.

What is included in flat rates for moving?

Every flat rate moving company in New York has a different set of terms that describe what is included in their flat rates. We provide all-inclusive, transparent pricing that always inculdes the following:

  • Mattress covers.

  • Blanketing of furniture and electronics for safe transport.

  • Equipment like dollies and commercial bins to expedite.

  • Time on the road via truck routes.

  • Applicable taxes and fees.

We do not charge additional fees for:

  • Certificates of Insurance (COIs)

  • Credit card processing

  • Meters & tolls

  • Parking tickets

Flat rates start at $240.

Our hardworking crews typically earn 20% for good service and 25% for exceptional service. If you received a discount on your estimate or final rate, we and the team appreciate when you tip on the original value of your move.

How much should I tip the movers?

Are there any additional fees?

Move day fees that could apply to your move (but rarely come up):

  • Additional inventory or flights of stairs, beyond what we’ve factored into your latest moving estimate.

  • Long carry fee—applied when there is an unusual distance between the truck and the unit.

  • Wait time fee—if your crew is on site and scheduled to work but they are held up through no fault of their own.

We apply hourly moving rates to very small moves, in-building moves, and other services like real estate staging help. These rates are based on the number of team members required to execute the services safely and efficiently. All services billed at an hourly rate have a two-hour minimum.
