Make it a home.

Help us create local impact here in NYC through our partnership with Covenant House New York.

Cool Hand Movers has partnered with
Covenant House New York to bring the comforts of home to NYC youth facing homelessness.

In 2022, wishlist purchases through our #MakeitaHomeInitative will benefit the Covenant House New York’s Rights of Passage (ROP) program. Each year, the ROP program alone helps 150 young people feel safe in transitional housing. ROP’s cohort includes expecting moms and mothers with young children.

Featured CHNY Program: Rights of Passage

Covenant House New York operates several programs serving youth who find themselves them in NYC. For 2022, contributions generated by our Make it a Home initiative will support bringing high-need items to youth in the Rights of Passage program.

Rights of Passage (ROP) is a 24-month residential program for young adults who have transitioned out of a crisis shelter.

Young people in the Covenant House New York ROP Program work closely with case managers and social workers to create personalized plans that help ensure their success in moving into independent, permanent housing.

  • "When youth are moving out of our transitional housing program and taking the next step into their future, there are a lot of associated costs. For example, when Youth J received a cleaning kit for her new apartment, she was very grateful that someone thought of this need and put together the items for her."
