NYC Moving Safety

Moving in New York City amid COVID-19, or novel coronavirus 2019, requires new client and employee guidelines. For the latest general information and guidelines about novel coronavirus 2019, please visit CDC.gov. The information below details how the Cool Hand Movers team is addressing the pandemic but should not be used as a medical resource.

Cool Hand Movers takes the health of our staff and clients seriously. That is why we ask you to please read on about how our business policies and practices are different because of COVID-19. You can revisit this link for updated information. These guidelines apply regardless of the location or your vaccination status.

Move Day Safety

  • Clients are required to wear masks throughout the service.

  • We ask clients to take the Team Lead through the unit for a walkthrough and then leave the unit while the team is working.

  • Keep at least ten feet of distance between yourself and the team at all times. Movers need space to pack and move quickly and safely.

Team Education & Guidelines

All of our moving staff are vaccinated and have taken an informational quiz on CDC guidelines. They have the latest information on preventing the spread of COVID-19. Based on those guidelines, all staff members are to:

  • follow all basic CDC guidelines for prevention & report any symptoms

  • wear face coverings at all times

  • clean inside of cab & door handles with disinfectant after each service

  • use provided hand sanitizer between services

Cancellation/ Rescheduling

Above all, if you are sick, please let us know immediately. We will help you reschedule your move, or help you make alternate arrangements. To that end, cancellations due to illness, quarantine, or caring for someone with COVID-19, will not be subject to cancellation fees. Similarly, moves postponed for illness will not be scheduled less than 14 days from postponement.

Moving in New York often requires coordination with building management. Hence, we ask that you keep in touch with yours and pass along any information related to your move. If your building postpones or cancels your residential move due to the health crisis, any relevant fee will be waived.

Staying Updated

Guidelines while we were still operating under the health crisis:

Moving companies are essential businesses in the NYC tri-state area. Our administrative team is working from home per state guidelines.

Finally, we are committed to doing our best to keep our team and our clients safe. So, these policies will develop with the situation. Please do reach out with any follow-up questions. Follow us here and on Instagram for the latest updates.

Stay Healthy!
