Every Cool Hand Movers service includes:

  • a team of trained movers with professional moving equipment like dollies and blankets,

  • up to three of our reusable wardrobe boxes for use on move day,

  • professional blanketing and stretch wrapping of furniture, wall art, and mirrors,

  • Certificates of Insurance as needed.

Optional add-ons:

  • box packing services for a room, or your full unit,

  • disassembly & reassembly of beds and larger furniture items,

  • delivery & pick-up of sanitized reusable moving bins.

We never add fees for:

  • Parking meters

  • Parking tickets

  • Tolls

  • Certificates of Insurance (COI)

For flat rates for moving, each moving company has its own way of collecting information about your move. The more detailed the information they collect, the more accurate a price they'll be able to provide. Make sure to check that the following fees are already included in your rate to avoid hidden fees and move-day charges:

There are some fees that no company will be able to assess until the day of the move. Check that the rates for these fees are stated plainly in their moving terms and conditions. These include:

  • Long carry fees - when the distance between the truck and the apartment or house is longer than a particular distance

  • Wait time fees - when movers cannot begin work through no fault of their own

Often, broad discrepancies in price come from differences in what fees are included and the accuracy of your item list. When comparing rates, ensure that each company has taken the same box counts, furniture details, location details, and additional services into account.

  • Our estimate request form above helps us to gather all of the details we need in order to provide you with an accurate estimate. For packing services, you’ll be prompted to submit a video walkthrough to receive a guaranteed estimate.

  • Moving costs vary by the specific details of your move, including the volume of your items, additional services like disassembly, the distance between locations, ad more. Visit our moving costs in NYC page for a detailed breakdown.

  • A binding rate is one that will not change as long as the details of your move do not change. While most New York City moving companies offer binding rates, they are frequently misinterpreted as absolutely fixed. The rate is only binding based on the information we have. If the team arrives on move day and there is twice as much stuff as we were initially told, the rate will change to reflect the additional resources and labor needed to execute the move.

  • Rates based on video walkthroughs are guaranteed. Your video allows us to make a detailed, visual assessment and determine what resources we’ll need for a successful move. Rates based on submitted inventories are estimates based on the information we’re provided.

  • Unless a client requests packing services and submits a video walkthrough, the rate does not include packing moving bins or boxes. Rates for moving do include proper wrapping of furniture, electronics, and wall decor.
